If you were planning to visit Qatar from a South-East Asian country, then I apologize in advance- I come bearing bad news for you. Qatar has banned travellers from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, and Egypt from entering the country.

Qatar has amended its travel list in the light of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, and has blacklisted six nations on the grounds of health and safety. The blacklisted countries, according to the Ministry of Public Health report, are India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, the Philippines, Nepal, and Egypt. This ban went into effect from 7PM of January 30, 2022.

I had a query. If I'm a citizen of one of the blacklisted countries, but I'm trying to enter from a Green List country- is that gonna be possible? For example, I'm from India, but I'm currently residing in Canada. Can I travel to Qatar this Summer from Toronto?

You can, if you provide appropriate purpose of visit (for example, education), or if you are a Canadian PR holder.
